just installed it this morning, tne newest testing version: marillat

but when i start it, only appear: Mplayer interrupted by signal 6 in module: unknown.

after i click ok, appear: Mplayer crashed. This shouldn't happen. It can be a bug in the Mplayer code or in your drivers or in your gcc version.

I recently tried the latest version of the mplayer.dsl module that someone had created and it worked fine.

When you wrote"the newest testing version", did you apt-get the mplayer, or
download the .deb files from Debian?

Have you tried the .dsl extension for mplayer with DSL version 0.7.0 or 0.7.1 ?

Many folks have posted with success at running it in DSL.

Mine plays mpg avi wma dvd's etc...  no problem..

Since DSL is not 100% debian, a download from "somewhere else" may give problems...

I have done a mydsl on the MPLAYER and it doesn't work for me at all. A double click on the icon does nothing. Running from a command line does nothing. Any ideas as to how to make this work??

btw...HDD install of 7.1

In your post, does your message " I have done a mydsl" mean that
you are building a new .dsl extension for MPlayer, or that you are
trying to install the one available in the extensions area?

In an earlier post, you mentioned " newest testing version"
I'm guessing your building it from the latest sources...

If you are building a new mplayer.dsl, take a moment to download the one
from the repository, open it up, and look inside it to get an idea of
how it should look when you build yours.

always verify the md5sum after downloading, so you know for sure
your copy is valid and intact.

The mplayer.dsl in the repository seems to work fine.
I use it frequently for viewing and playing many different files.

If you are building from the newest sources, some libs may not be
present in DSL, or in the stable apt repository, that MPlayer needs.

What errors are you getting when you are compiling?
