Should be trivial to convert any unc to dsl, mount it, tar it, done.

# mount XFree86.unc /mnt/test -o ro,loop=/dev/cloop
# cd /mnt/test
# tar -zcvf /tmp/XFree86.dsl .
# cd /tmp
# umount /mnt/test

# declobber.sh -o /tmp XFree86.dsl

Your new .dsl is in /tmp/XFree86/XFree86_noclobber.dsl
You can rename it
You can mydsl-load it

Will this XFree86.dsl work with the Sony C1VE(N) or does it still need some tweaking? Tried several times with DSL and Debian but couldn´t get the right screen resolution  :(

Andreas

UNC are only for frugal as you have assumed.
roberts indicated that he has a config file for your system in the XFree86 unc version, which he has included a conversion howto in his last post in this thread.

Tried this and got mount: mount point /mnt/test does not exist  :(
