There's blender, it's in the repository somewhere, I've only fired it up once or twice and couldn't figure it out (I've only ever used 3dStudio Max 6), but I think some people swear by it (others probably swear at it, but...

)

Funny, I was just in the library two days ago and saw a fairly large book on the shelf about how to use Blender. Your's might stock it too.
