sound works fine, but it is very low compared to the other os's on the machine.
I have a feeling that as i play xmms at full volume, i could turn up the master, if i could find one. ( in kde i use kmix)
anyone?

in movix a mixer is found in the console#2 shouldnt be too big, could be used?

try wmmix, it is in dsl and should be there automatically, the dial that appears first should be master volume, you can use it to turn up/down.

You mean how to change the main volume? Look at the bottom right hand corner or the screen in the dock apps, at the very bottom is what looks like a midget winmx, has a dial with a little red dot on it or click on it and roll the wheel of your mouse. :O
