I've used keepvid.com to download Youtube videos.  I have both MPlayer and the MPlayer plug-in MyDSL extensions installed.

However, MPlayer refuses to play *.flv files.  I get the "Fatal Error" dialog box with the message "No stream found".  What am I missing?  What are the appropriate settings under the "preferences" menu?

Uhh.. I have no trouble playing flv's in mplayer. Maybe keepvid gives you malformed videos?

So why is MPlayer allowing you to play videos but not me?  What are your configurations?  I can't for the life of me understand the mumbo jumbo in the preferences options.

Let's test. Give me a youtube address, I'll download the vid using my youtube-dl, try watching it, and then send it to you some way, so you can try watching it. If you can, it's keepvid that has the bugs.

OK, I solved the problem by switching from the unc version to the uci version.  The uci version has a lot of stuff that the unc version lacks.
