What I THINK is happening, in an unclear sort of manner... :p :

You probably specified a font in Flash that doesn't exist under DSL... hmm, just looking at Flash now (v4), not too sure...  Is the text in text boxes, ie. the data's coming from another source, or is it static text?  'Cause when you use text boxes, it could possibly do what you are describing when you specify a font that doesn't exist under DSL.  To get around this (and for any machine that doen't have that font installed), you need to go to the text box properties and specify that you want to include the font outlines (less filesize if you can specify only certain letters etc instead of the whole set).  But not sure what it would try to do if that font didn't exist on the system, whether it would try to replace it with a default one, or whether it just wouldn't show up, as you've described.

Then again I could be WAAAAY off (been a long day...)

You could also select one of the generic fonts, such as _serif (one of the names beginning with an underscore).  This will supposedly use whatever font it can.
The ideal thing, though, is to install some standard truetype fonts.

I allready use _serif. But the text dosen't apear.
The funny thing is that in the flash plugin window, the test on the buttons is also missing.

I think that, for some reason, the flash plugin use a default font that isn't in DSL ... but the text areas display fine.

Does anyone have a list of the DSL installed fonts?
I have a 'frugal' install on a CF.
How can I install a font without rebuilding the entire thing?

Thanks for your time.
