Lately, I cannot get xmms to give me a playlist from the cdrom.
So, No songs for me.
If I run Damn Small off the cdrom drive, then of course I cannot then put a
music cd in there and run it (or can I).
I am running Damn Small off /knoppix in /dev/hda1, and restore from a tarball
in /dev/hdb1.
When I try and run xmms, I can't find the cdrom drive, with the music cd!

you must run DSl with the Toram option. you need 128M Ram to do that.
Once you do that, you can use the play cd feature you get in xmms.
(this features goes back to version 0.4.something)
I never tryied to run "toram" from a HD installed DSL. It should work, I think.
hope this helps.  :;):
