Successful boot with the following:

FIC AN19E Mainboard
PQI Intelligent Stick 2.0 (tested with 512 mb model)

Notes: Several people say use USB-ZIP, but I had to use USB-HDD. Setup seems VERY picky on drive configuration. I don't know if this is the USB device, the mainboard, or something else.

I do not have "usb hdd" option in my Dell BIOS for the Optiplex GX260.

I used the settings that are mentioned in my previous post and I used the Dell usb key utility program to format the USB device before I installed DSL on it.

It is important that you get your USB device's LED to light up before the power on progress bar reaches 100% or your computer will ignore the device and boot up via the internal hard drive instead.

Works beatifully on a
Asus A7N8x-uay motherboard
-Phoneix Bios
-Had to set boot from usb-hdd

Using a Sandisk 256mb Secure Digital Card with a cheapo 2 dollar sd reader. Never worked with my 80 dollar panasonic sd reader (came with mp3 player)
The 2 dollar sd reader i got off ebay. its small and looks silver. For people with SD cards, i recommend that cheap one. its made in taiwan (cant find it on ebay anymore, but there are some pretty good cheap usb 2.0 ones for like 5 bux that i wanna try.)

how do you make it ? i try it in a Asus A7N8X-Deluxe and i can't get it boot. I test the usb key in another mobo (gigabyte) and the usbfob runs good.

I have transend 128 MB USB stick. I have installed dsl in that. With that I could boot in dell 600m laptop and an office pc of Indian make. However  in my home PC with A7N8X deluxe MB, I couldn't boot with that same stick. why? Any solutions?

I couldn't make my A7N8X-D boot from my usb jumpdrive either, I have been using a boot floppy. Works fine.
