I have a 4gb USB drive which I installed DSL onto. I now have no need for it any more and would like to turn the 2 partitions that DSL created into 1. How can I do this? I only have access to a windows machine at the moment. The built in windows disk management won't let me change the structure of it and partition magic won't even see it in the first place. Any ideas?

You'll probably need administrator or root-privileges to change the partitions.  Unless you use a resize capable utility (ie parted), you'll probably have to delete everything, then create one.

I do have admin privileges though. I can do things to other disks shown. With this one however, I can't do *anything*, even delete everything and start again.

Right click my computer > Manage > Disk Management. Then on the top try selecting the view option. See if you can change one of the panes from default and set it to disk list. You can usually view disks that aren't viewable this way. Then once seen, assign it a drive letter so you can see it in my computer. You should be able to work with it from there. Hope that sheds some light on you dilema.

maybe boot your windows machine off of a DSL CD (root=toram), causing it to become a linuxbox just for the moment?  just long enough to deal with that USB thing?  (format as vfat, not ext)
