G'Day,

I have a regular ps2 3-button scroll mouse.  I run xsetup.sh and choose IMPS2, but the scroll doesn't work. If I rerun xsetup and choose USB (and move mouse to usb port obviously) then the scroll works fine.

I only have 1 usb port on the old laptop, so I would rather have the mouse on ps2.  Is there a known problem or workaround, or is it just me  :(

Cheers,
Wittfella

I'm having the same problem! but then with XFree86

I'm running XFree86 because I get strange color's with the X of DSL itself...
I tried everything in the config file, scrolling options etc... nothing works :(

I'm having the same problem also.  What's weird is that for a while, sometimes it WOULD work if I went to DSLpanel, Keyboard, selected the keyboard again, then Xvesa to select the screen resolution again.  The scroll wheel would work for the rest of that session.  But the next time I booted, it wouldn't work again.  Doing the above would get it working only sometimes.  But lately, that trick hasn't worked at all.

I'm using a Logitech marble with two buttons and scroll wheel.

I think I may have found the issue (at least for xvesa). in the .xserverrc file there is a line that says:  /dev/psaux,5

This tells the system howmany buttons your PS/2 mouse has. The last number needs to be 2 more than the actual number of buttons (including the wheel). In the case of my Intellimouse Optical that number is seven. (Left, Right, Left Side, Right Side, wheel click). The two "extra" buttons allow for the wheel to scroll up or down. Hope that helps.
