ok i just did an hdd install of DSL and  i had to do it on this box that im on now because the other computer for some reson dosent want to boot cd's so i installed it and it workd fine but when i put it in the other box...

it start's up but then stopp's and display's this

vfs: cannot open root devise "300" or 3:00
Please apend A correct "root=" boot option
Kernal panic: vfs: unable to mount  Root Fs on 03:00

is there any thing i can do to resolve this problem ? thanks ....

Try using Google to search for a solution for the problem. It is most likely that there is a boot command option that will allow you to get up and running. Something like noapic biosirq or something like that.

that is why i put the hdd  in this one for the install then put it back in that computer but i get the kernal panic so i dont know what to do .. thanks though ...

That looks like you're having problem on hda1 partition.... but don't worry about that.

Download Smart Bootmanager from http://btmgr.sourceforge.net/

You can install on a floppy and it lets you boot from CD even on old machines. After that, just follow the normal DSL HD installation procedures ;)
