Other Help Topics :: DSL boots fine- No mouse movement tho'

Hey,
I've been test-driving various small live linux distros (Puppy, etc.) and they worked fine.  And DSL seems like the most 'automatic' one yet; it didnt ask me one config question during the boot.  I like that.
The problem is: my mouse pointer doesn't move yet the system isnt froze because I can see the CPU meter onscreen ocassionally move.
I use an I/O Magic cordless usb mouse normally.  When that didnt work I removed it and put my original Compaq ps/2 plug mouse in; and that didnt work either on my next bootup.
 Ideas?  Suggestions?      - Partok81

When using the command xsetup.sh it asks what kind of mouse you're using: USB/PS2.
Try rerunning xsetup.sh! (Maybe first exit X window)

Sometime ago I tried to use a usb mouse connected to the PS2 via an adapter, but I never got it running. Using the usb it runs ok...

Or if running from livecd or USB key, type this command in at the initial Boot: prompt

dsl xsetup

and then tell the system that you have a USB mouse when prompted.

NotTheMama,

I use a USB-to-ps/2 adapter everyday on my main box.

It should work fine. Just select imps/2 as the protocal.

SaidinUnleashed,

Tried it. Did not work. Maybe my pc, maybe my mouse...
USB works. So it is still connected to that.
