Other Help Topics :: DSL boots fine- No mouse movement tho'

A big THANKYOU to you all  Partok81 here.  After following your directions and hitting F2 at the DSL boot screen I entered " dsl x setup " and was shortly taken to a blue/grey "DSL X Setup" screen.  I accepted the default Xvesa and the interview questions began:  Screen rez, bit depth, keyboard, and finally Mouse.  I told it I have a USB mouse and continued.
And as before, I sucessfully got to the desktop with it's working cpu meter.  However, also as before, my mouse STILL would not move.
So then I thought, ' Hmm, last time I tried DSL I plugged in BOTH my usb and my ps/2 Compaq mouse to 'cover all my bases' as they say.  What if I restarted with the usb mouse un-plugged?
I went thru the whole process again restarting, this time without the usb mouse and at the "DSL X Setup" screen I used my arrow keys to accept the " Cancel " selection, because it said it defaulted to the settings that I wanted anyway.
And now I'm typing this online using DSL from the cd.  So it seems to all work.  Now I'm just wondering if it's gonna remember my settings the next time I try to use it.   Oh well,  I guess I'll find out then.
         -   Thanks,       Partok81

actually it won't unless you use backup/restore. You also must have a USB-key, or a partition setup to store the backup.tgz file. I use USB-key cause it is so handy.
But i like Embeded better. Because I can run it under windows while playing Call Of Duty:UO and i can save my setup in a flash with qemu's savevm loadvm commands. So everything on the entire virtual machine that i made or downloaded i save it.

I am having a similar problem but with a serial mouse I cntrl-alt=backspace out of x and run xsetup.sh and have tried all the com ports and still nothing. What is the root pasword anyway?
use

Code Sample
sudo su

to become root
