I have a Tecra 720CDT lapbtop with a Crystal Semiconductor CS4232 soundcard. I looked around the fourms and posted about it and I was giving a link to another part of the forums...

Im new to linux and I need to know step by step how to get my CS4232 soundcard to work!! ASAP plz help me.

go to the DSL Control Panel, there is an icon on the desktop for it.

click soundcardconfig.

if it doesn't auto-detect it, you can select a driver from the list. you may have to use trial-and-error to find a driver that will work.

but it's easy in soundcardconfig.

oops I forgot to say that I already tried that and it didn't work...so what else can I do?

does it work with knoppix 2.4 proper?

if so, copy the module onto a removable media and try insmod 'ing it on DSL.

Search in laptop discussion for Thinkpad 600 (which has a similar card) or 4232. You should be able to get it working. You have to insert a few commands.
