Hey,
Im having a problem where the handlers for HID devices are not being set on a cd-rom boot (im assuming the same for frugal as well, however I have not tested that). If you boot from cd and do a cat /proc/bus/input/devices you will see:
H: Handlers= [blank]

However if you do a harddrive install and do a cat /proc/bus/input/devices you will see:
H: Handlers=event#

Anyone have any ideas on how to get around this? Thanks.
