problem wireless ipw2200 not working
findings so far.
If wireless is disabled in the bios then driver loads, interface is defined but radio is of and cannot be switched on with iwconfig eth0 txpower on or in any other form.
if wireless is enabled in bios then driver does not load with a firmware load error as follows:

echo -n 100 > /sys/class/firmware/timeout has no effect on it all, it just takes longer before it fails.
DSL-N version 01 RC2

Any information on how to solve this is apreciated

The laptop is an aopen "notebook computer" model number 7550 |

There is an extensive thread on ipw wireless card problem with DSL-N. Try a search. Short answer is that it is not solved even though the right modules and firmware are included.  |
