I'm running this on a Sony Vaio, PCG-FRV25 laptop with 512 MB of RAM and a 40 gig HD. Currently running DSL-N on a livecd with the toram boot option.

DSL-N is very pretty, I can't deny that. It is also as easy to use as DSL, so far. I like that there is only one web browser included in the menu and Seamonkey is a great choice. It runs smooth and uses less resources than either Firefox or Opera. MPlayer is, again, a better choice than XMMS. I have found a couple of issues, however.

Mounting: In DSL-N, when you click on the mount tool to mount the CDROM drive, it still says it is unmounted. This can be confusing. Also, the mount app will not let you unmount the system; you must use the terminal to do so.

Mounting, repeat: I am unable to find the location to mount thumb drives. Also, the option to mount a thumb drive is missing in the mount app.

MPlayer: It is unable to play my DVD's.

The fluxter device which shows workgroups refuses to go away, even after several attempts to remove it from xinitrc and restarting X. This is mildly annoying.

These are the only issues so far. DSL-N looks smooth overall and I'm looking forward to the full release. Until then, I think I'll stick with DSL, but I'll be sure to play with it some more.

Im running DSL-N on a Dell Latitude C600 Notebokk with 256MB Ram with the toram option. Actually the HD is broken an removed, but DSL-N runs fine. There is a USB 256MB Memory-Stick to hold the backup's and there is also a Windows2003-Share to store some downloads on a fileserver.
I use Linneighborhood to mount the mentioned fileserver, Skype for communication and i prefere firefox as browser. Seamonkey is used as Mail-Client for a gmail-Account. Emelfm is always loaded to manage the filetransfers from an to the windows-share.
Everything works fine but in some circumstances the systems slows down near freeze if everything is open an running, the i have to close all apps an everything or restart the x-server ...? (i didn't reboot since 6 day's)
Im missing the RDP-Client (seen in DSL) and the Citrix ICA-Client. I coudln't setup the Realplayer and the Flashplayer addin's for Firefox for any reasons. Printing to a shared windwos-printer is one issue which i didn't tried yet...
If these additions are running, i will use DSL-N as one off my favorite client-os.

Over all - i have to say that DSL-N is really a very fine piece of work!

Run it from a terminal and see what error messages there might be.

Why would you download mplayer for dsl when mplayer is already part of dsl-n? Check the menus.
