I'm re-mastering DSL-N I've only made a couple of small changes to DSL-N and none of it should have broken X. But alas, it's not starting on start up and startx is causing other troubles.

And for some reason, It always auto logins as root instead of dsl.

Startup:

The line about not being able to copy /KNOPPIX/.bash_profile is odd, but I checked DSL-N RC4 iso and there doesn't appear to be such a file in DSL-N.

startx:

My path does infact include /usr/X11R6/bin...

su to dsl, and try to start x, and everything starts, but the skel stuff isn't copied over... I think there is a script missing, or has the wrong permissions, any ideas on what the file is?
