DSL Embedded :: please help with install on HP EVO T20 thin client
Hi all,
I'd like to install DSL on my HP EVO T20 thin client (128MB RAM, 128MB flash I think) but the few pages I have found are either not on the web any more or are in German (and not easy to follow, even after google translation).
I was wondering could anyone please help me out with a clear, step by step (I'm still a linux newbie) guide to installing DSL either on my USB stick for my T20, or creating a PXE image I can then flash the T20 with?
EDIT: I followed the advice in the wiki 'install on a USB stick' for windows and it didn't work.

Post what problems you have. There's also another guide in the forums to install from windows though it may have been adapted from the wiki entry or vice versa.
The easiest by far is just to load the livecd and install it using the built-in scripts. There's also a PXE solution in the forums - but it loads everything in minirt so you'll need more memory (ie RAM) to use that.hi guys,

following up on my own post, but mainly due to the hard work of another guy he's got DSL and the T20 working quite well and easily together.
The only thing I can't get my head around at the moment is that the T20 appears to need DSL on a USB flash drive, (though we've installed DSL on the internal T20 flash 'bios'). On bootup you get the 'error:
Can't find KNOPPIX filesystem, sorry. Dropping you to a (very limited) shell.
anyone have any ideas/comments they can offer please?
EDIT: I believe this error comes up because there is no detected HDD (or USB key in this case)?
EDIT2: Nope, doesn't appear to be right.. I just plugged in a FAT32 formatted USB flash disk and still the same 'error' message. no Knoppix file system. It works fine if I plug in a bootable DSL USB flash drive, though I am hoping to be able to have DSL run without needing a USB drive at all.
We've also got a T30, so here's hoping we can get DSL on that as well.This happens if you use the full drive (ie sda or hda not sda1 or hda1).. The auto-detection script hasn't been updated to recognize that.. You could change it, or use the bootcode "boot=/dev/sda" (or hda if it's in ide)Next Page...
