Just like the title says, I can't mount any CD's after HD installation.  I've moved some files over via samba, so I'm not too stuck... I just need to know how to disable the automounting process or else get it to work properly.
Where can I find info about this?

I wouldn't mind mounting and unmounting manually if I need to.

DSL does not automount by default...

What kind of hd-install do you have?

Try mount /dev/scd0 /mnt/cdrom

Well, the Mount Tool on the desktop isn't working...
it keeps telling me:

Code Sample

Error: mount: according to mtab, /dev/scd0 is already mounted on /mnt/auto/cdrom

the command you gave me works, but I'll need to look up the umount command so I can unmount it... cuz it won't eject now.

How do I configure or remove the mount tool?

I've looked in .xinitrc and didn't see it anywhere.

As far as what kind of HD install I have, i just selected the regular HD install (not frugal)

And as far as system specs, its a Fujitsu Lifebook 735Dx 133Mhz Pentium with 32MB RAM and 1.6GB hard drive.

--edit--

The following command
Code Sample

sudo umount /dev/scd0

gives me

Code Sample

umount: /mnt/auto/cdrom: device is busy
umount: /mnt/auto/cdrom: device is busy

tried unmounting /mnt/cdrom and tried unmounting /mnt/auto/cdrom.... everything gives me device busy

Well, its working now... don't ask me how... now if I can just get rid of the mount tool

Code Sample

sudo mount /dev/scd0 /home/<user>/CDROM

and

sudo umount /home/<user>/CDROM

The line in .xinitrc starting the mount tool is the one with wmswallow docked.lua.
Remove it, no more mount tool.. The mount tool was broken for cd's in 3.2, it will be fixed in 3.3

Thanx!

I'll not be upgrading this once its finished....
I put some buttons in the wmdrawer to load and unmount/eject so i got that covered... the volume is handled via a wheel on the outside of the laptop, and there is no floppy drive in the machine... so getting rid of the Mount tool saves unnecessary cycles.

Awesome.

Thanx again.

awesome.

Now I've got a Load CD icon and an Eject CD icon in wmdrawer.  And it works just great and the mount tool is no more

Thanx guys.
