First of all i am VERY new to DSL or Linux in general. I dont' know ANything at all.

I was born a MsDos,win 3.1, 95, 98, 98se,XP Pro person.

:O)

HERE's my problem with DSL

I have a conexant 56k HSF modem. I found the linux drivers in tag.gz format. Now i burnt DSL.iso onto the cd-rw with nero. & i dont' now how to add the drivers for my modem to the CD.

I've burnt the drivers to another Cd. but i dont' know how to access the CD rom in DSL :O(

ALL i want to do it get on the internet & play with DSL, But i am stumped & lost.

PLEASE HELP ME

How do i add the files to an already burnt DSL cd, when i burnt it with nero & then i used XP's built in cd writer to add the file it messed up the cd and it wouldn't boot.

I'm assuming your modem is a winmodem. That being the case you are just about screwed. I tried for weeks to get my lucent winmodem going under DSL 1.2 to no avail. Bought me a pcmcia card modem for the laptop (non winmodem), and it worked great.....of course now lucent winmodems are supported under 2.1. If you are absolutley stuck on getting that modem going the best thing you can do is search the wiki, and google.com/linux "conexant"......wish you all the luck!

p.s. sometimes it take a little more that 24 hours to get a response....not light speed, but not the pony express either...

i have a conexant hsf 56k modem. I have the driver files for it. it's a .run file.  I'm gonna disconnect my xp hard drive & install a blank drive. & install dsl to teh hard drive. see if that works i have the modem file on a CD rom. who knows. but it looks like dsl is not for me anyway. I'll have to try linux OS or lindows. there more user friendly & goof proof i think .. but waht to i know i'm a winodws person better stick to waht i know.
