Hi,

I run DSL 3.1 that I boot over the network using PXE boot.

Whenever I try to mount a music cd in order to play it with xMMs, I receive the message: "you must specify the file system type" ...

But how do I specify the type ...
Or: what do I have to do in order to listen to a music-CD?

BTW: The sound itself works ... I can listen to the News feeds with xMMs.

Regards

Rigas

Don't mount a music cd, unless it is a data cd with music files on it (ogg, mp3, etc.).  Just play it: xmms /dev/cdrom

Hi Mikshaw,

thanks for your help.

I did the following:

1. Insert a music CD.

2. Started xmms

3. Klicked on open and moved to /dev

4. under /dev are a lot of files ... I tried to klick on file cdrom and cdrom1. Neither of them worked ...

Any ideas?

1.  Open xmms
2.  right click
3.  choose "play location"
4.  "/mnt/cdrom"
