Here is the error I get when exiting from the desktop:
'Please mount media containing optional directory'.

There are some discussions about this issue but related to a frugal install, which is not my case.

I boot with:
dsl mydsl=hda4/opt

and under /opt I have an 'optional' directory.

Also I don't see the extensions auto-loaded after a boot...

?

Don't know if the error is because /opt is already a Linux directory.  Might be better to rename /opt to /mydsl like this mydsl=hda4/mydsl and you could have another subdirectory like /mydsl/optional.  I usually do a remastered CD with DSL and the added mydsl directories with my favorite programs.
