i needed it to check my 750gb usb drive, i know i have a copy somewhere but why was it removed, or is it lost?

IIRC it got corrupted. Try the binaries here:
< ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub.....tar.gz >

Even though it's not a DSL extension, it should just work when you mydsl-load it.
