I think the world of e-ink readers (Sony, Kindle ...) has arrived, and solves the problem of energy efficiency and building libraries. I'm guessing this will be the next "olpc" move. (of course, the child would probably have less access to ography, chat rooms, and computer viruses)

The market for now exceeds that for all sporting events combined. E-readers might be somewhat easier to control for educational purposes.
