I like the flexibility of the DSL Embedded with QEMU.  I frequently travel with consulting and may be in front of an XP machine or a Mac OSX machine.

Can DSL Embedded run within the running OSX like it can with XP?  Can it boot standalone from OSX on start?

If so, how can it do these things.  Couldnt really find any info.

Thanks.

I believe there was a port of qemu for osx - some users found it worked okay.

You could also try out virtual pc (commercial).

Here is the site where you can get Qemu for OSX

I presume when you get Qemu installed using a Mac you can install the DSL files.

Had a moment to test this.  If you have Qemu from the site above installed and use the dsl-xxx.iso on the key, you can boot DSL.

I had the following errors:
modprobe failed due to not finding xfx, minix, hfs or efs.

Perhaps someone with more knowledge about this can explain why there were these errors.

I have some screenshots that show it works.  If I could only figure out how to attach them to this posting.

I expect that if you make a slightly larger partition to put embedded DSL, probably another 15-20MB, you can load the Mac version of QEMU.  Then select the knoppix image for the boot image.  (I'm not sure how to do this yet).
