        Could be that the data (i.e. KNOPPIX file) is corrupt on your usb drive.

        i did the last thing i haven't tried, turn on the cache. by default it's turned off so ppl can extract usb without the safe extraction method. now it's working. however i can't make the optical mouse work. i have to replace it for one with serial port
