Serial mouse not working in X

I am a Newbie and tried booting DSL on my Pentium 166 MMX, everthing loads fine with the exeption of the 2 button serial mouse (COM 1). How do I get the mouse to work? It works 100 % on my AMD 1 GHz machine.
