Gtk2 :: running gaim in dsl downloaded from gtk2

i downloaded gaimn messenger from gtk2 and when i clicked on the icon on my desktop nothing happens could someone please telll me why. This topic has come up in another section of the forum but i never gopt an answer.

you installed gtk2-extension before this?
Else it will not work...
