DSL Tips and Tricks :: saving background pic



ill try the second one ... as the first didnt work .. i coppied the image into .fluxbox/backgrounds .. then used the tool and set it and i thought that is it.

what is the background name .. it is cool + i noticed ur running somthing else that shows icons on top of the down. where did u get that .

background name is same as yours "tuxwin.jpg" that's what i thought you was using. I'm not sure i understand your second question. I just changed the icons to ones i pulled from osl icons.

2 noob questions:

I have a couple of .jpg that I would like to use as backgrounds.  Do I need to do any to them - certain size of picture or whatever before I copy to fluxbox/backgrounds?

Once I setup these backgrounds, I'd like to take a screen shot - I noticed in the menus there is "X snapshot."  I get a picture of my desktop saved as "myscreen.xwd" or something.  When I  view this with xpaint its all "green."  Any tips?

Kerry, I've seen your screenshots before - cool stuff.  I tried wmdrawer, but could not get make the icons show - just the question marks.
