       (a."Awesome"  b."Useful"  c."Dead Fish"  d. "What is a 'ham' ?")

All the .dsl's from ke4nt1 have been revised over
the Memorial Day Weekend 5/30/2004. If you d/loaded
copies before this date, please retry these again!
They should be well behaved. They have been tested
on several systems and with other dsl users.
They perform well here in any type of install..
( I'm learning this stuff as I go....;-)
So far, the feedback has been good....

Well, so far I've used their games (xpuyopuyo, doom, ace-of-penguin, xgammon), abiword and openoffice, firefox, and MPlayer.

So far, all but the MPlayer work on the LiveCD (MPlayer needs to write to /etc, and can't, so it chokes).  I did an HD install earlier (with only OpenOffice, Firefox and Ace), then manually installed the ones I've said up there (except Abiword).  Everythin's workin' great on that, too.

Try again with d/loading the mplayer....
Could be from an earlier upload, which had the /etc/skel problem..
I have made revisions, in the last few days...
The one on the repository now is the latest, and
I have received good feedback so far....

Check out xmame...
...some ol' classics...

Tnx for the feedback...

Hi ke4nt1,

Tried your mplayer.dsl and may I say a VERY welcome addition to DSL! Aside from some missing codecs it played most of my video files no problem   Although the double and fullscreen options did not resize the video feed (it just resized the window). I think it maybe to do with DSL's X server ???

I tried Firefox, ace, samba and they worked great from livecd.  I loaded the gnu-utils, but didn't use them.  I just plopped them on my custom CD, just in case I needed them.  I tried to load the OOo on a system w/ enough ram, but it bombed out during boot, w/ out of memory error.  I think we're really pushing the limits of the point of the  distro w/ that one.  You can, but why? :p

I also tried synaptic from the control panel.  Slow to come down, but it worked.  It's probably better after install to HDD and w/ the dpkg repository restored.
I might get a chance soon to test more games and others.
