Other Help Topics :: Boot floppy - Nec CD-Rom detection failed
I have an old Pentium 100MHz, which I'm trying to get up and running again.
The CD-Rom drive, a Nec CDR-273, is not recognized by BIOS. I know all the hardware works, because Windows 95 was running on this beast before I formatted the harddrive.
Anyhow, I made a boot floppy. It hangs during boot. When doing a failsafe boot, it hangs at
ide1: SIS5513 Bus-Master DMA disabled (BIOS)
My conclusion is that the default boot floppy configuration does not support this particular Nec CD-Rom.
Questions:
Am I right in my conclusion?
Is it enough with some cheat codes?
Do I need to put drivers for the CD-Rom on the floppy?
In that case, what drivers, and where from?
Thanks
