Other Help Topics :: keyboard hot keys

I have a microsoft keyboard(the only thing i have ever likes from ms) and i would like to get the hot keys working such as the volume adjustment and so on. can i do that in dsl???

There have been a few threads on this subject, and I have yet to read a definitive answer. It's my belief that a new keymap would need to be added to support more than the standard keys. I've tried a few different mappings, and none of them seem to recognize multimedia buttons... don't even get a keycode from xev.
