Other Help Topics :: Running CD

You can still use the myDSL stuff without an Internet connection.

Log into a computer with Internet access and go to the "myDSL repository is online" link on the DSL home page.

Then save the extension files to your computer by right-clicking on the filename and choose "Save target as..."  Then move the files over to your Linux computer  somehow.  CD-R? USB Drive?

If it is the same computer you are all set. You just need to connect to your Windows paritition and grab the files after you boot up DSL.

Either way, start DSL and then start up emelfm.  Navigate to the directory where your saved files are stored.  Highlight ONE file and then click on the myDSL button that is inside the emelfm window.  Wait until the screen flickers and your package is now installed and hopefully will have a desktop icon or a new entry in your Fluxbox Right-Click menu.

Thank you very much. I noticed the flicker, but never saw anything happen. I will do a lot more digging, before asking stupid questions again. I am so DOS engrained, it's hard to think differently. Thanks again.
