Other Help Topics :: Running CD



I am slowly learning most things. One thing I can't find, is how to get a data CD run. I can't figure how to mount it or run istall. It is an old Toshiba CD-Rom XM6402B. Need to install software for my camera & some other things. Thanks. Sorry for the trouble. ???
I learned through other posts how to do the mount & open thing. I can get into the CD with emelfm. How do I run autorun, setup, install or whatever it uses to install software?? Thanks. ???
this is linux. you can not install or run mswindows software.
There are two point-n-click ways to install Linux software.

One is the myDSL respository.  Click on the myDSL icon to install software, or download the files from the "myDSL respository is Online" link on the damnsmalllinux.org web page.  Then open up the emelfm file manager, use your mouse to select the file that you downloaded and then push the "myDSL" button inside the file manager.

The other is "Synaptic" package manager.  You can get it by clicking on the tools -> got memory and bandwidth -> install Synaptic menu item.

This software is suppossed to install on linux, win or mac. Maybe I can get it now. I can't help it, I'm DOS born & raised since 1995. Give me time. Thanks. :p
