I think that you are correct. The difference in the distros is the boot section of the cdrom .iso image. An old bios will recognize syslinux but not isolinux which appears to be the newer standard for distros.
DSL won't run automatically from the CD. I accessed the drive and saw a lot of stuff I don't understand. Something about BIOS and rat-a-tat. I can read Greek classics more easily. The app sounds very promising, but how will I ever know?
