where did you get the "package"?

1. Update to the latest version of DSL - 0.9.2. Many .dsl packages will kill older versions nowadays.

2. Try using apt-get first. There in a nice writup of how to enable apt in the documentation area.

3. DSL doesn't have gcc, g++, or make by default. We do, however, have these packaged up nice and neat in the form of gcc1.dsl. It's in the testing area.

Even with gcc1.dsl, DSL isn't much of a development system.  You're likely to run into many dependency problems.
I agree that apt-get would be by far the easiest approach.

Does it mean that i can't add new applications?
