Also, you might want to grab the latest version, 0.9.3, instead of 0.7.x

download and use Burncdcc

and make sure the iso file you downloaded is ok by checking the md5sum

I won't give you a solution to your problem, but one advice:
use CDRW's to burn LiveCD's like DSL. You wouldn't get any coasters and DSL upgrades all the time so you would be able to just use 1 CDRW instead of having to burn the new versions on new CD's.

the idea, is to burn a data image to the CD.
some versions of programs wont let you do this, i got a free one of the net, forgot where though, google it, should help.
you want to burn the contents of the ISO to the CD, not the ISO itself
