Other Help Topics :: cd install need help..

Ok i want to boot off a live cd, but can't find the tut anywhere! i found for floppies and crap but not live... so can someone please direct me in the right direction? thanks in advance.
No installation necessary to use a liveCD.  Simply burn the ISO image (as an image, not as a data CD: http://members.home.nl/lsnoek/iso.htm ), make sure your bios is set to boot from CD prior to harddrive, and boot your computer with the CD in the drive.  You should get a working DSL system running in RAM.

Any problems, come back here and we'll try to help.

Ok i dont think it's allowing me to boot from cd first. How can I change that in Windows?
You can't change it in Windows as far as I know, but if you know how to enter the BIOS setup for your computer you can change it there.
While the system is booting, and before the OS splash screen, repeatedly tap 'Del', 'F1', 'F2', and possibly 'F10'. The most common is 'Del', and it should bring you to the BIOS setup screen. From there, find something about 'Boot Order', 'Boot Sequence', or the like, and change it so that CD is before or above the hard disk.

Good luck.

ok well first i dont think im burning the disk right. I use the latest nero and i click nero burning rom, the program comes up and asks what type, on the left side i chose cd-rom (iso), then i chose new, select and drag in dsl-1.0rc2.iso then i burn the cd with the no-multisession and disk-at-once options. Then when it finished i checked the cd and all i saw was the iso file. What am i doing wrong?
