DSL,KNOPPIX,MEPIS and Linspire are all Debian based linux systems, so I would expect that the Netzero package is a *.deb package that could be installed with dpkg -i filename.deb but I could be wrong.
toram: It's a boot option that loads the entire system into RAM.  Typically programs are left alone until they are called for, which means that the CD is needed at all times, just in case.  If you run toram, the CD is no longer necessary because everything is available in RAM.
when the live CD boots up and pauses with the boot screen, type the following:

dsl toram

that will get you what mikshaw is talking about.

Yes, DSL really shines with the toram boot option, due to it's small size.
I have one machine that has a GB of ram, and with Knoppix, it can be done, but if you try and burn a cd, for instance, you can use up all your ram and then no more applications will open up. You click on them, and it just sits there, time to reboot. I have used toram with DSL on as little as 128 MB of ram, and that works fine, especially on a PII.
