I can't for the life of me figure out how to add new desktop shortcuts.

I have done the hard drive install, and trying to configure the desktops so that I can add shortcuts to certain programs, such as telnet.

However since I can't right click, and can't find it anywhere in the run or program options etc.. how do I go about doing this?

Is it possible to do it manually from the command line?
