i have tried to format my usb stick in linux using "cfdisk /dev/sda1" but it tells me that the partition is wrong and that it starts at the ent of the disk
when i tried sfdisk it says "warning start=32 - this looks like a partition rater than the entire disk. using fdisk on it is probably meaningless."
any help? 
/dev/sda1 is "a partition rather than the entire disk". Try '/dev/sda' instead.
i tried that with cfdisk
/dev/sda came up with the same error message
its starting to give me a headache 
Perhaps your usb stick does not have a partition table.
You should be able use fdisk (not cfdisk or sfdisk) to create a new one.
the thing that i dont get is that my usb sick CLAIMED it was already bootable, yet it isnt
