Other Help Topics :: how to run dsl on windows with usb as hard drive

hello.
i have the .zip distribution, that i run directly from my windows.
my dream is to have the dsl on my usb disk, but not too boot the computer from, but to have persistent storage in dsl when i run it under whatever windows comp I am sitting at. i would plug my usb disk, start dsl-windows.bat, and have the usb disk as my home directory (or whatever directory, as long as there's a place that's persistent). is this possible? what keywords to look for here to find this discussed?
thank you
