Other Help Topics :: Problem Upon Reboot

Thanks very much, I will give that a try.
Thanks cbagger01, I tried your suggestion to run xsetup.sh and chose the xvesa server, than to use startx. I was able to get back into the gui. My question now is what would I have to do so that I could boot without problem using the Xfbdev server because I have trouble with the xvesa server. When using xvesa I encounter problems when leaving it on for an extended period of time where the screen is just black and there is nothing I can do (possibly from the rumored memory leak in xvesa?). Therefore I would like to use Xfbdev.
Try this:

Boot DSL from livecd

At the boot prompt, press the F3 key

Try entering the various framebuffer codes and booting until you find one that works (you should start bootup with a little penguin picture in the upper left corner).

Example:

dsl vga=785 xsetup

or

dsl vga=771 xsetup

and then choose xfbdev if you get the penguin picture.
