I was wondering how long on average it takes for DSL to load. I tried using it before, but since it was late I gave up after about 2 minutes. I got to the main boot screen that said "DSL", and then i pressed Enter. After about 2 minutes of waiting all I saw was a black screen. Is this normal or should I be seeing something else?
You should probably be seeing something besides a blank screen. Sounds like you may have to "adjust some settings" at boot.
There are several options for doing this.
If you post your hardware configuration, I'm sure some help will come to you.

I have an HP Laptop with a mobile AMD Athalon XP 2200+ Processor, its 1.79 GHz, and it has 448 MB of RAM. (It's relatively new, I bought it 2 years ago.)
Try starting up with the command

' dsl vga=normal '

Let us know..

Good news!

It works on my desktop(which I am using right now)

Not so good news!

I didn't work on my laptop. It seems everything goes fine until the part with unzipping the kernel.
