Hi,

The config keyboard tools don't make any changes, and the soundcardconfig give me a segmentation fault error message (using bootlocal.sh script to load the sound card modules for now).

Concerning the keymap you should log out and in to get things working or use command line loadkeys -your keymap-in terminal mode.

Concerning sound what is the output of dmesg ??

Portuguese keymap is working now (using loadkeys pt-latin1 (loadkeys pt, my trial a few days ago)).
dmesg is empty.
Another question, why my pcmcia ethernet card is always down when the os is completly loaded?(ifup eth0 do the job).
