Other Help Topics :: CDROM boot, settings not restored

Hello I do have this problem with DSL 0.8.3.

When I do reboot my DSL 0.8.3 cd it do not restore my saved settings, also if I do specify the correct backup device (fd0).

The settings are correctly saved when I shutdown the system, they are also correctly restored becouse after the boot I can see the restored version of the files on the Ram Disk tree, but it seems like they are not executed during boot time!

Where is the problem? What is wrong?

Thankx in advance!

so you see the restored files in the /ramdisk.
then the restore has worked
settings are not "executed" they are not programs.
please give a real example of your fileltool.lst.
the "restore=fd0" should NOT contain spaces of anything else.

Hi, well, during boot time, I think new restored files (like bootlocal.sh, .xinitrc, etc.) have to be exectuted. In my case, it seems they are just copied in the location from the backup and NOT executed.

Here my filetool.lst:

opt/ppp
opt/bootlocal.sh
opt/powerdown.sh
home/dsl/filetool.lst
home/dsl/.fluxbox/backgrounds
home/dsl/.fluxbox/styles
home/dsl/.xinitrc
home/dsl/.xserverrc

Obviously there are no space and no brackets on the boot time command:

dsl restore=fd0
