Other Help Topics :: Nothing on the Screen?!

I am a n00b at linux as of yesterday.
I got SlaX to work great but I'd like to try DSL. After a few tries I got it to boot using the "falesafe" command but I had no mouse control. The "DSL vga=normal" didn't work either.

It goes through the configuring hardware status bar and there are a few more things after that. Then the screen goes black.

Any suggestions?
