				| Hello,
I know this isn't rocket science and am possibly overlooking something here.

I have successfully booted off my USB-HDD pendrive install, without any boot params. Once on the desktop, I did some work, browsed, saved stuff in my home dir, which on shutdown is (automatically) tarred and gunzip and saved on my pendrive and restored (automatically) on subsequent boots.

But I am unable to save the apps I install through MyDSL. All I get is a "unsaved extension" warning at shutdown and when I click on "Yes" to let DSL-N save those extenstions nothing (apparently) happens.

So my questions is: does something need to be done, running a script maybe, to get to save these extensions? Secondly, will they be restored automatically like the data in the home dir upon subsequent boots?

Thank you for DSL and DSL-N. My old desktops have suddenly become useful again.

 Cheers!

 Mayank

UPDATE: When booting from USB, I booted with the "dsl frugal" option. Once inside I downloaded an app, and on shutdown *wasn't* presented with the "Unsaved extensions" message. But on reboot, the extention wasn't loaded! I have absolutely no clue now on saving extentions while botting from USB. Any pointers?

				| Typically for a USB-HDD install, you have one partition on the pendrive. Typically when one downloads extensions, they default to /tmp/
To save extensions use the file manager as super-user root and copy them from /tmp to /cdrom

Then upon reboot your extensions will seamlessly be auto-loaded.
