Just ran up DSL-N RC0.1 .. Very interesting.. The desktop is very uncluttered. I notice that Firefox is missing. This might change but I must admit I have not explored the Mozzilla suite properly as yet. I dont test brousers and email clients alot I just use them.
I did try out MPlayer with a MP3 and WMA file. Both played very fast with broken unintelligable noises. Something isnt right with this yet. It looks like an impresive packge though.. I was using a Athlon 1500 with 512Megs of ram. The sound card is a Creative Soundblaster that usually runs fine with the EMU drivers on live distros. I opened the file using ElfFM using the right click OPEN option. Keep going guys. Will keep testing with it here.

Do you have an ogg audio file to test it with? It might be the codecs.

Peter, I probably do have a ogg file available. I have however managed to get it going now on 2 machines ok.. The problem was the way I was opening it via the right click menu in Elf file manager. If I run up Mplayer directly and load the file from Mplayer file menu it plays fine.
Maybee this isnt a real problem or it may be just some quirk of Elf Fm..

I wonder if you use the commandline to tell mplayer to play that file, does it do the same thing? Maybe this is some how involved with how mplayer detects bitrates... Perhaps there's a switch on the commandline it needs. I'll have to get to a system with sound and find out.
Thanks :D
